1. Took me to Barns and Noble Where we sat for two hours and read books. And talked about the books that we read. We sat side by side reading, commenting, laughing and sharing what we learned. It was the best two hours Ive ever spent with a boy.
2. Bought me breakfast on our way to a jazz choir performance at six in the morning I did at one point in my life sing. I belonged to a jazz choir during my sophmore year of high school, and I loved every moment of it. Even the hard moments when practises were early in the morning and hard to the core. And he bought me breakfast. He called me the night before and asked me if I would like a ride. ( carpool to the club? i think yes! ) He picked me up at 5:30 in the morning and driving down the road out of my sub division asked if he could buy me breakfast. ( This was also the boy who skipped jazz choir practise with me when I was having a really bad day )
3. Taught me algebra I struggled a lot in high school with my math classes. Turns out having smart friends is exceptionally helpful to your education in the long run. It gave us hours of time together sitting at his mothers kitchen table while I finally learned algebra.
4. Called my cell phone and sang Happy Birthday to me The call made my entire day. I felt like a million bucks.
5. Put his arms around my shivering shoulders when I was cold We had just finished our last performance and all of us were gathered at a park in the chilly autumn air. And I was shivering. And he came up behind me and put his arms around my shoulders to keep me warm.
6. Went to opening night of Twilight with me He teased me later and said that he was one of the five boys in the entire theater that night. This boy also, went with me to see Valkyrie on a whimsical Friday night, held my hand while we walked around a cornfield, and drove three hours to see me on Valentines Day.
7. Helped me haul my bed frame from my parents home in Utah to my college apartment in Idaho It was nothing short of a miracle that we were able to get that bed frame down the stair case. But moving to college wouldnt have been any fun without him. We laughed and talked the whole drive up to Idaho. He took me to a Mexican restruant for dinner and watched movies at his parents house before driving me back to my lonely apartment.
8. Made me laugh while playing basketball Im still convinced to this day that I have never laughed so hard. I met him at the gym while we were playing raquetball and basketball with some friends. He teased me for being so short ( 5'3 and basketball never mixed well ) and teased me till I was laughing so hard, I could hardly run up and down the floor. After the game he took me back to his dorm for juice.
9. Insisted that I never walk back to my apartment alone - especially at 1am This was always an impossible feat, considering that I was always doing something on campus till midnight. But no matter how cold it was outside, he never let me walk home alone. We would walk, side by side, and he'd put his arm around me and say whats on your mind little girl. Even still I wish I had a smart enough answer for him.
10. Introduced me to Lord of the Rings I am forever indepted now. Because I love Lord of the Rings
